How Fitness impacts Mental Health?

The most trending word nowadays, which is going viral and lots of people are focusing on it. That is the word “Health”. People are looking into ways and ways and are making different perspectives according to their needs. Some people use health to shape themselves, their body and some use it as mind shaping. Very few percentages of people know the actual meaning of health. WHO (World Health Organisation) has mentioned the actual definition of Health - “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”.

According to the above definition by WHO and the data’s collected for the year of 2019, statistics showed that 70 percent of Indian women and 59 percent Indian men were unhealthy based on their diet and lifestyle. And in 2020, the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak came to as a blow to Indian Health statistics. People died, recovered and are still in the middle of their health progress due to this outbreak.

Above mentioned survey and many other practical experiences have showed us that diet and lifestyle has been the major cause of being unhealthy. Its not the adulteration or the huge food processing but it’s the ways the people are treating and indulging themselves in way more easier and difficult lifestyles. The lifestyle people are choosing or are being provided is mostly the squeezing of mental health and minimizing their healthy yet difficult and time-consuming food habits. There are huge ques and appointments which are taken every minute regarding the health issues. And when we see the statics closely about the mental health of Indians, WHO estimated that about 7.5 per cent Indians suffer from some mental disorder and predictions were done that in the end of year roughly 20 per cent of India will suffer from mental illnesses. Surveys showed that 56 million Indians suffer from depression and another 38 million Indians suffer from anxiety disorders.

The surveys are shocking and also regretting that being an Indian where, Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Allopathy are the streams where people can connect themselves to achieve the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle are still roaming and squeezing their mental health and are not treating it better. Nature and body when work together it benefit the whole body and the main functionary organ of the body that is Brain where the all mental, social, physical emotions get contracted. The body responds to the beauty of nature in the form of “Fitness”.

Fitness has many definitions and meanings but all when combined gives a solution to all the health problems. Fitness introduce body with mental exercises, maintain body shape, spreading positivity and energizing the body within itself. Yoga , asanas, running, pushing and pulling heavy weights, meditations all are the ways that are included in fitness. It is observed that treating body with all the above mentioned ways and healthy exercises there is a huge positive impact on mental health which includes, pushing off negativity and making a space of positivity in mind, having control on emotional stress, working out and making a time for the body.

Nourishing the body from inside and outside both helps in the development of one’s self. Just as sweating out few drops makes the body feel relaxed and automatically start energizing the brain. Similarly breathing in nature’s arm makes the person feel relaxed and peaceful. There is no particular ways or stories which is necessary to include in “Fitness”, it’s the choice of people and the body of the person in which way it wants its mind and body to work and grow positively.
