Why Self-Love is important

A ‘no’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.

- Mahatma Gandhi

We all live a very busy life and every day seems to be chaotic but learning to manage priorities and balance our time effectively is very crucial. When life gets too busy, we miss out on the things we like and end up compromising. For many of us, the idea of prioritizing our own needs can seem completely at odds and selfish. But, putting yourself first, and loving yourself means that you’re not looking for other people to make you happy. Instead, you create your own happiness, your pathway to fulfillment and high performance in work and in life. Its only when you feel good about yourself you are in a better position to be there for others.

*Make time for you

*Get rid of the guilt

*Stop saying yes to everyone

*Tell yourself you can

*Let’s go off the things you can’t control

*Embrace your emotion

*Know that you are enough

It is very possible to be there for yourself and others at the same time. This can be as simple as just asking someone how they are doing, or if there is anything you can do to help them. You can simply bond over similar struggles and finding a way to help each other based off what you both are going through. When you speak with someone who is suffering, listen to them carefully. With this you can provide comfort and support to them without having to solve their problems.

The balance between self-care and empathy for others is a ripe recipe for a happy, long and fulfilling life.
